Early this week, I finally told P it's time I take this to task and organize the shelf because our current lazy system is taking up too much space, when I know there's more to put our junk into. Now, I love doing this...the organizing? I love, love, love it. I love it more when I take charge at putting what item wherever. I told the hubs I was going to do this over the weekend, when he's away for work. I didn't want him helping me out with the clean-up because he had a different system, one that annoys the hell out of me because I'm OC like he is!
I like to sort things out since I find it therapeutic. What I hate though is the chaos before everything else is set in place.
Just looking at this mess really wore me out. And the real work has not even started!
So then, I have to figure out where everything must go......which is something I like doing. It is challenging. Like figuring out an Algebra problem. Which is ironic because I failed Algebra in High School!
If movie X is classified under shelf B, can it also go together with movie Y, now resting on shelf A? And how do I choose between shelves A&B?
Oooh, I love figuring stuff like this!
I'm covered in dust and sweating like hell, but what the heck.....Organization Algebra!!!
And here's my lovely assistant who 1) kept sneezing from all the dust (such a sensitive nose!); 2) broke a vase because he was playing with it with the dogs (scolded him for it, hee!). Ahhh, but the boy was quite handy and it worked out well because I realized the task at hand was something I could not do alone.
And then afterwards.... ta-dah!!!!
Video collection neatly stacked and piled together, in their individual plastic cases. I love that everything is so linear!
And then, much, much later that day???
Dusted myself, took a bath, wore pretty earrings to match this sparkling headband I got off E-bay and smugly sat there feeling satisfied and proud of myself. Woooot!
Oh, and I put up new curtains, too! At P500 for four panels? (Thank you SM!) It's a darn steal! This one's in caramel. I took down the light blue curtains we've had since forever. It instantly gave our bedroom a facelift.
On the phone later today, P asked what I've done and I was proud to report how I organized the videos including the one about changing the curtains. It sounds like he's excited about coming home.
Do I know my Taurus or what, huh?
